Temporary Tattoos

Temporary tattoos – once known from bubble gum wrappers – are making a comeback, and not just among kids. They’re now a popular item at conferences, festivals, concerts, and branded promotions, and for good reason.

They tap into curiosity: everyone’s wondered what a tattoo might look like on them. Temporary tattoos let you try it out easily, with no commitment. They’re fun, visually striking, and perfect for promotional or decorative use.

They work in many settings: as fan gear with team logos, party favors for weddings or birthdays, or simply as creative giveaways. A well-designed temporary tattoo stands out even at a small size – and carries your brand in a way few other formats can.

For individual tattoos, provide the size of each tattoo without bleed. For multiple tattoos arranged on a sheet, provide the full sheet size as designed.

Note: Due to technical limitations, only 200×287 mm of an A4 sheet can be used for printing.

In printed images (photos, drawings, logos), the paper’s surface provides the white color. For tattoos applied to skin, you may need to use white as an additional color to prevent white areas from blending with the skin tone.

– If you want tattoos on a single A4 sheet, select the “not trimmed” option.
– For individual, separated tattoos, choose the “trimmed” option.
– To cut along the tattoo’s shape, select the “request contour cutting” option. Otherwise, you can easily cut them yourself with scissors.

Important: For straight cutting, all designs on the same sheet must have identical width and height to produce uniform sized tattoo stickers.

Costs do not increase linearly—the more tattoos you order, the better the unit price. Pricing is based on how many pieces fit on a single sheet.

Editing guide

Design  /  Avoid using fonts smaller than 5 pt or with very thin lines, as they won’t be legible on skin. Gold and silver elements may not show well on very thin lines or small areas. For deep black areas, we recommend using CMYK 60/50/50/100.

Color  /  In printed images (photos, drawings, logos), the paper’s surface provides the white color. For tattoos applied to skin, you may need to use white as an additional color to prevent white areas from blending with the skin tone. This is straightforward for vector graphics but more complex for pixel-based images.

General Setup  /  The most reliable file format is PDF/X-4—it ensures optimal compression and proper embedding of fonts and colors. All images should be in CMYK color mode and 300 dpi resolution at actual size. If using extra (spot) colors, the printable areas must be vector-based. If your design reaches the edge of the print, include a 3 mm bleed. Crop marks should be 3 mm long and placed 3 mm from the edge.
