Submission of Mandatory Deposit Copies

Publications Requiring 6 + 1 Copies:

(6 copies to the National Széchényi Library [OSZK], 1 copy to a county library or the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library [FSZEK])

  • Printed books, textbooks, activity books, and booklets with at least 16 pages, including first and subsequent editions (e.g., 2nd edition, 4th expanded edition, etc.).
  • Periodically published printed materials, including newspapers, journals, yearbooks, conference proceedings, directories, bibliographies, repertories, reports, newsletters, study collections, anthologies, series, and loose-leaf publications.
  • Printed maps, atlases, and globes.
  • Printed sheet music.

Publications Requiring 6 Copies:

(6 copies to the OSZK)

  • Electronic publications on physical formats (e.g., CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, music CDs, audiobooks, or USB drives with conference materials).

Publications Requiring 2 Copies:

(2 copies to the OSZK)

  • Reprints of printed books, textbooks, activity books, or booklets with at least 16 pages, using the same ISBN but a different publication or printing year from the original edition.
  • Variant editions of printed publications (e.g., language variants, binding variants, cover variants, collector’s editions, etc.).
  • Printed publications reproduced in 50 or fewer copies with an international standard number (e.g., ISBN or ISSN).
  • Print-on-demand publications.
  • Specific printed ephemera approved by the minister responsible for culture, as listed in Appendix 2 of the guide.

Publications Requiring 1 Copy:

(1 copy to the OSZK)

  • Online electronic publications.
  • Electronic versions matching printed publications.
  • Note: If you cannot submit the electronic version, you can provide an additional printed copy with a separate delivery note specifying its purpose.
