Stretched Canvas Prints

Done within 2-4 days

When working with digital graphics or photos, it’s often hard to imagine how they’ll look in print. One of the most elegant solutions – favored by illustrators, artists, and interior designers – is the stretched canvas print.

The image is printed on artist canvas and stretched over a wooden frame (known as a stretcher bar). This gives it a painterly, artistic feel while remaining lightweight and practical. It’s more durable and easier to handle than traditional glass-framed prints.

You can choose between two canvas types: classic matte off-white artist canvas or bright white synthetic canvas with a subtle sheen. The frame is made from solid pine wood, ensuring a stable and long-lasting result.

For stretching onto a wooden frame, include an extra 65 mm on all sides for the wrap. This can be filled with your design, a solid color, or left blank to show the canvas’s natural off-white border. A 2–3 mm positional shift may occur during stretching, which may be noticeable with sharp design elements.

Hanger
We recommend choosing two hangers if the print is wider than a meter.

Editing guide

Design  /  Avoid using fonts smaller than 5 pt or with very thin lines—these fine details cannot be accurately reproduced due to the woven texture of the canvas substrate. For deep black areas, we recommend using CMYK 60/50/50/100. All images should be in CMYK color mode.

Substrate Selection  /  Choose matte canvas for artistic images or glossy canvas for modern designs or photographs. For spaces with high humidity (e.g., wine cellars or terraces), opt for fully synthetic glossy white canvas or tarpaulin substrate.

General Setup  /  The most reliable file format is PDF/X-4—it ensures optimal compression and proper embedding of fonts and colors. You can also send TIFF or JPG files. Files should be submitted at the final print size with a resolution of 300 dpi. For canvas prints viewed from a distance, 200 dpi is sufficient (still at 1:1 scale). Bleed and crop marks are not required.

Framing  /  For stretching onto a wooden frame, include an additional 65 mm around all sides. This extra area can be filled with your design, a solid color, or left blank—in which case the canvas’s off-white edge will be visible. Due to the stretching process, a 2–3 mm positional shift may occur, especially with sharp design elements.
